The gifts of the summer garden are
plentiful! The
garden abundance is copious! Every family circle seems
to have at least one avid gardener with more
tomatoes and green beans and peppers than he or she can use on his/her own. Luckily for us, generosity
overflows in gardeners. Wilson Family Chiropractic urges
Millville chiropractic patients to gratefully take
those green beans, peppers and tomatoes
and eat them for an amazing anti-oxidant and nutritional
boost to fight inflammation, heart disease, cancer, and more! Wilson Family Chiropractic welcomes
all of these benefits!
ANTI-OXIDANT, ANTI-INFLAMMATORY, ANTI-DISEASE
Wilson Family Chiropractic knows this is an incredible
list of benefits. It’s hard to detach
these actions from each other! They are all beneficial.
Tomatoes are very nutrient rich, providing vitamin C,
potassium and lycopene, an anti-oxidant that benefits cancer and
heart disease prevention and anti-inflammatory activity. (1,2) To enhance
absorption of lycopene, enjoy tomatoes with some delicious,
healthy fats like olives, avocados or related oils. (3) Bell and
chili peppers are bursting with vitamins C, A, E, K1 and potassium, folic acid and fiber. [All of us all need
a little more fiber in our diets! About fiber,
green beans are marvelous sources. Additionally,
they have many proteins, carotenoids, and
anti-oxidants with only a few calories. Green beans have
nutrients reported to
also be anticarcinogenic, helping
prevent and even stop the spread of some cancers in the
body. (4, 5, 6)] Further, peppers assist in fighting inflammation, too, with their anti-oxidants. Raw and roasted peppers offer
anti-oxidant benefits. Roasting may raise or lower those
benefits depending on the pepper type and growth stage. (7,8,9) At any rate, your Millville
chiropractor encourages you to enjoy some peppers, tomatoes,
and green beans! Your body will reward you!
